Not sure if i'm getting paid correct??

This is the situation, I have recently moved jobs and i am on an hourly wage for 40 hours a week and do not have a salary. So if i miss a day i dont get paid. The confusion comes in when i get my pay slip and it says i have worked 160 hours and this is the same for every month as if i'm salaried. Now if i'm right i believe i should be getting roughly 173 hours a month if i'm being paid hourly 40x52/12= 173.3.

Are you on monthly or 4 weekly? Does the employer work in 4 and 5 week months? Either of these may explain the discrepancy.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

Its not monthly as we get paid on different dates and they stop on different dates when they send the information through for that month it could be for e.g the 14th one month then then 16th next and then get paid on the 26th one month then the 24th the next. Hope that helps.saved £1500/£1500 by december 31st 20110

It appears you're not paid monthly but 4 weekly, 13 times per annum.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0

Thats what you would think but at the end of the financial year we will of had 12 pay slips. When i said the dates vary its only by a day or 2 its always the same sort of time every month so theres no way we could get an extra pay slip in.saved £1500/£1500 by december 31st 20110

Ask the payroll office to explain. And go through your payslips and circle the last date for which each applied on a calendar. It looks to me like your pay approximates to monthly, but is actually 4 or 5 weeks as necessary.Will.ii.am wrote: »Its not monthly as we get paid on different dates and they stop on different dates when they send the information through for that month it could be for e.g the 14th one month then then 16th next and then get paid on the 26th one month then the 24th the next.
