Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: For legal reasons codes are not permitted on the Grabbit board and have been moved. If in doubt please read this. Hi All,

I wanted a cheap pair of glasses to take on holiday with me, so ordered from specky4eyes.

To cut a very long story short, after waiting 3 weeks I was told the glasses I ordered weren't in stock and were no longer available. I was offered an alternative colour, which I accepted, only to be told the next day that they too, were no longer available.

At this point I wasn't particularly happy due to the length of time I'd been waiting, so I cancelled.

They then became a bit condescending - saying that I should surely find an alternative within their range of over 5000 designs! - and yes, they did include the exclamation mark.

This somehow really annoyed me and turned me from a disappointed 'customer' who was ready to forget and move on, into a cross one.

The point wasn't so much the design, but the fast approaching holiday, so I decided not to trawl through their 5,000 designs and confirmed my cancellation, I also mentioned that I would write a negative review.

Wow, that really touched a nerve. They made, what I felt was a veiled threat that they would take legal action if I wrote anything 'defamatory'. I don't need to, they gave me plenty to write about without the need for any embellishment.

If you want a very cheap pair of glasses, then this crowd certainly offer them, but be warned, in my opinion, their rude, argumentative and condescending customer service department leaves a lot to be desired.

I ordered a pair of glasses form Specky4Eyes using the offer code from MSE.

Ordered on 28th February, still waiting for them and on my order status it says that they are 'in lab', the previous status is 'preparation in progress' (isn't that the same thing??).

I have also sent two messages asking when I can expect to receive the glasses which have both been ignored. They wont be getting good feedback from me either.

I've ordered cheap glasses from other sites in the past which have only taken a few days to arrive so I cannot see the reason for the delay.

Specky4eyes also send you an email asking for a copy of your prescription to be posted/faxed/emailed which I have not had to do before.

Here's what it says in my order status:

    2013-03-28 16:58:51In Lab
    2013-03-08 16:19:58Preparation In Progress
    2013-03-05 20:46:40Prescription Dispensed
    2013-03-04 11:56:56Prescription Received
    2013-03-01 13:54:13Awaiting Prescription
    2013-02-28 10:02:13Payment Accepted

So, they take your money straight away and there is a large gap between 'Preparation in Progress' and 'In Lab'.

Don't order from here if you want your glasses quickly! They might be cheaper but I for one can do without all the hassle.
