Currently this is the case on some of the lower loan to values, although lets not forget you pay your broker for advice and not to put your information on the computer and hope it says yes.

Why is it you are so keen not to get professional help?

I think it's because I'm stubborn which I know isn't a good thing, but I always feel like if I haven't tried my best to find a deal that we would both consider worth thinking about then I feel like I've failed or regret not looking!

If I was a mortgage advisor whats to stop me from showing the customer a product that makes me £600 but not showing them the same deal that only makes me £300?
For a standard "high street" proposition, there's very little difference between what each lender pays. I've just had a look at the sheet for the first time in months and this is what I found;-

    Abbey 0.35%, Accord 0.35%, Coventry 0.34%, Halifax 0.31%, ING 0.35%, Hanley 0.35%, Leek 0.35%, Leeds 0.37%, Nationwide 0.35%, NatWest 0.32%, Newcastle 0.35%, Woolwich 0.35%.

On a £100k mortgage, the difference between lowest (Halifax) and highest Leeds (0.37%) would be £60. My last two cases were place with Halifax and NatWest.
