Tax Code Confusion

Hi,

Im wondering if someone could help me please?

Last April I changed to part time in what was my full time job. My hours changed to 18 hours per week. I also took on another part time position for another company work 19 hours per week.

I have since found that both pay slips show that my tax code is 747L.

Is this right?

Best to post this in the "Cutting Tax" forum. But no it's not right, your allowance can only be used once. So one employer should be using the "747L" code and the other "BR" (assuming you are not likely to be earning enough to be pushed into the higer taxe rate).
  • Oh sorry, i'll go and post it there, but thank you for your help!
