My wife and I split up in January 2011. She left the family home taking the children with her and told me via txt.. anyway I digress..
We have now sold the family home which I have soley being paying the mortgage on for the last 15 months and she wants any profit split 50/50. I don't see why she should be entitled to any share in the reduction of capital since Jan 2011.
I am currently not signing the minute of agreement until this is resolved. Does anyone have any experience of this and if so what.
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks

Whilst I totally agree on a moral note, this will come down to who needs the money the most.
If you lose this sale (which is likely) if through legal communication and potentially arbitration you cannot come to a resolution you will both be hit financially.
The legal costs would be prohibitive going down this route and then you may not get a buyer again at the same value.
So, either try and contact your Ex yourself or use a trusted middle man as otherwise you will end up biting your nose off to spite your face.
By the way, please read this that I agree with you entirely but thinking pragmatically I am sure you will need this done and move on.

Dave Ham - Have been advised by Solicitor acting for sale that the sale will go ahead and they will hold proceeds until agreement reached.0

I agree with Dave (which seem to happen far too much :P) morally your spot on, but if your not on speaking terms any solicitors letters will eat into the amount your arguing about. Depending on how much were talking that could be eaten up in no time and the only people to win would be the solicitors.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. I ended up with 30% when I split with my ex wife ( we have one child) so if your EX is happy with 50% of the profit smile sweetly and pay the woman.
It will cost a whole lot more in legal fees if you fight this.
Are you paying maintence for your kids ? Has she gone to the CSA yet.
Have a look on the CSA website and move on with your life0
