Srj

Hi, I wonder if someone can help me.
I've been getting several calls and texts from this company asking me to contact them. I dont answer the calls and I don't call them back. As far as I'm aware I do not owe money to any company. I received a letter today detailing they have received information confirming that this is my current address and I should call them immediately. It also says due to data protection legislation they are unable to include details of the account. This all seems quite dodgy but it's making me feel upset and stressed.
From other posts I have read they seem to be a bunch of bullies. I just want them to stop.

    It is dodgy.

The reason they cannot disclose the information it that to do so they have to be sure they are writing to the correct person. If they disclose details without being sure, then that is a breach of the data protection act.

So SRJ clearly are not even sure that you are the person that they are after.

To be honest at this stage I would just ignore them.

If (a BIG if) in due course they write again with actual details, then you can take action from there.

It might be an idea to check your credit files though. If SRJ have incorrectly traced this debt to your details, then they may have also put a false black mark against your credit files.
