Need ideas to make money go further/earn more!

I really need some ideas as me and my OH are in around £12000 of debt which we want to clear ASAP. I have found out I'm newly pregnant which was a surprise! So now I would like to get the debt down as much as possible before November. We do have a spare £1000 each month to get the debt down but the sooner the better in my opinion.
So I was wondering what hints and tips do people have? We can't swap credit cards as we haven't got the best rating and are currently paying the most off the highest interest debt and the minimum on the rest. I am getting things together today to sell on ebay, gumtree & carboot. I do surveys on value opinions though they are quiet at the moment. Myself personally I am in £ 2951 of debt and would be great if I could get this down. I'm currently paying £200 a month of as that is what I have spare out of my own wages.
Thanks for any advice!

I havent got much advice about moving your debts around etc, but I think of myself as very frugal, and when pregnant, nearly all of my sons baby items were bought from Ebay, bootsales, charity shops or free from Freecycle.
It saved so much money, in fact, he is now 3.5 and i've still hardly bought him any brand new clothes, I am still using up all the bootsale/freecycle items! Borrow from your friends who may have already had babies, i've had so many handmedowns and as baby's barely use their clothes they are nearly always in brand new condition.
I was fortunate and my MIL bought a new pram and my grandparents bought a cotbed and bedding, and my sister won a carseat in a competition, but the rest of it was done on a budget.
Check out the voucher/coupon areas on MSE, there are lots of vouchers to use towards Johnsons/Huggies/Pampers etc, join all the baby clubs online - Tescos, Boots, Sainsburys, Pampers, Huggies, Asda, etc etc, they will send you lots of goodies and vouchers in the post.
All supermarkets regularly do 'baby weeks', Sainsburys sometimes do half price on all baby items where you can make some great savings!

Hi
I was in a similar position as you a couple of years ago.
I did the following:
Created an ebay account - similar to you
Attended car boot sales regularly
Bought some domain names
Did temporary work, when I had time off from my other job (check out job sites like reed)
Took part in online paid surveys:
https://www.panelopinion.co.uk - this is my favourite survey website, it is simple but effective...You can withdraw your money when you get to £10 and it doesn't take that long to build up a good amount.
https://www.valuedopinion.co.uk - this website is good because they frequently have new surveys, which means you can qualify for them more often.
https://www.toluna.com - same as valuedopinion
https://www.surveyfriends.co.uk - this website rewards you with vouchers and prizes, which seem VERY easy to win lol. During 2012 I have already won a £50 amazon voucher and a £10 ticketmaster voucher and my friend won a 40" HD TV just before xmas. I am recommending this website based on our recent and previous success
Remember: Never pay to join any survey site - its often a scam
Good Luck:eek: 2014: £20 voucher from SurveyFriends, £10 cash payout from Panel Opinion too and working towards more from Valued Opinions currently.
2013: £35 and £50 vouchers from SurveyFriends! More than £15 made from other paid surveys sites (Yougov, Panel Opinion, Valued Opinions, Pinecone, etc.) Happy so far!0 -
Congrats on the bump!
Have you been through all your finances/outgoings to check that you are getting everything as cheap as you can? (eg utilities, phone & broadband, insurance etc)?
I found this actually netted me more than trying to earn more in the first instance.
Obviously if you've already done this then selling off things you don't need is a good option.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
So can vouch for this! I had been super lazy and not done this! After a shock bill and being behind with my provider by £700, called them and I can save an extra £29.00 a month which starts cutting our bill from £331 to £301. Now switching everything off!0
