Credit card minimum payments

I am in a serious amount of debt, mainly credit cards. I have taken advice from payplan but unfortunately cant go ahead with a dmp or iva at the moment due to having self employment complications. I am hoping to do an iva when I close the business later in the year. I can no longer make the minimum payments to all the credit card companies and was going to just contact the three biggest to reduce the payments. From what I have read I cant do this, I have to contact all of them. Is this correct and can I do it in writing? I dont want to have to speak to them at the moment as I am an emotional wreck

You can go ahead with your own self-managed DMP at any time you want. Do all communication in writing and divide your payments pro-rata between all creditors.0
