  • She could apply to get a 0% Credit Card. And pay off Very in full. Then close the Very account.

Then she should put £125 of her 'spare' £250 per month aside for 4 months, to pay for her Graduate Overdraft in July. (Or put the £125 a month in to her Graduate Account to reduce it monthly.)

She then has £125 a month to pay off on the 0% Credit Card (providing she can get one).
    SAVINGS: £63.86 // £3,000

Can you transfer money to catalogue accounts and overdrafts, it's that long since we had one I'm unsure.

No problem in paying a catalogue with a credit card.

Yes to overdrafts as long as you choose a super transfer card

If you choose a 0% purchase card, then you'll need to buy things on the card while allowing your income to accumulate in your current account. Might be a bit tempting to overspend using that tactic.

I would ask DD if she wants to do a money makeover or whatever Martin calls it... Ie. take a day to go through her finances and maximise everything... Give her s helping hand but get her to make the changes...

Get her to sign up to noddle.co.uk credit check (free) and you should then get a good overview of her finances. You may find she has debts you don't know about; Thats not a problem - as long as they are 0% or 'cheap' debts....

Spending 1000 on very is a bit of a silly thing to do - and I agree with others that SHE must want to take control of her finances... After all she isn't a child anymore.
