mrs-moneypenny - sorry to hear about your Gran. Sounds like you're being a great support to the rest of the family, but do let yourself have time to grieve. If the house is a wee bit less than 100% for the next couple of weeks (at least) so that you can take some time for yourself that is a good thing. I hope you're getting some help at home too - I know from experience its easy to run round being practical as a way of coping, but eventually you need to rest up or you'll collapse.

Good morning ladies, Firstly a big thank you to JulieJim for the list. I'm another one who fell by the wayside last week. DS1 is being very challenging and it's taking all my energy. DS2 has been poorly with tonsillitus but is back to school and paper round today. Friday was good with a trip to the 02 to see JLS. A 10 mile training walk on Saturday morning has left me with an aching posterior. I hope this means it's toning up!

I spent 3 hours ironing yesterday but there is still loads to do. I am going to try to do at least an hour a day until it's under control.

I'm going to go round the house emptying all the laundry baskets for that read teenagers bedroom floors. The sun is shining and its a good drying outside day.

    Good luck to Lil me

Sagaris - how great to see Mary Berry

I'm going to start a HHC at 11.30 if anyone wants to join in.

Monday - Hall, Stairs and Living Room
    Basic Flying
Clear the floors and hoover them
    15 minutes tidying this area
    Dust any fluffy surfaces
Clean the downstairs loo and basin
    Deep Cleaning
Hoover under any furniture you can safely move
Clean any nets that need doing
    HHI
    Decluttering

Didn't do too badly in my HHC:
    • emptied wm and hung on line
    • wet towels in TD to fluff and then hung on line
    • finished loading DW and put on
    • wiped down kitchen table, chairs and 2/3:D of worktop
    • put some w-up away and did some more
    • emptied backpack from our trip out yesterday (picnic rubbish and half full flasks still in there :o) - washed up/ threw away as appropriate and hung bag back up
    • sorted dry washing in dining room into ironing/ non-ironing and put the non-ironing stuff away
Time to feed DS3 and get him ready for rising 3s at 1pm now :)

    Lists are still untouched....!:p

The washing has been collected and the first of about 8 loads is going round. The rest of the laundry has been sorted into piles and the utility room floor resembles a jumble sale with piles of jeans, towels, colours, lights, darks and whites. I've hoovered throughout downstairs. My handbag has disappeared. I think this has something to do with the fact that the PS3 has been confiscated. It's not good as the cupboards are bare and I need to go to Tesco.

  • I'm in again this week. Thank you for the list Juliejim!

    Good luck with exam Lil_me!

mrs-moneypenny - sorry for your loss:(

I've been away for the weekend and will be away for the next couple of weekends as well so will try my best to do little bits every day.

By the way, ages ago (and I mean several weeks or even months ago!) I was having some trouble with my shredder and a couple of you lovelies (sorry but I can't remember who!) advised me to remove all the bits of paper that may be blocking it and to leave it to cool down. Well, I'm slightly ashamed to say I hadn't touched the thing since then, but I have done the above yesterday and it worked:j so many thanks!

Mrs-moneypenny so sorry for your loss - I hope the funeral goes well, and Gran gets a lovely send-off.

Still flying from my own lists (it's working well!) so today the kitchen has been done; Dylan was picked up at 10:30, so I've been able to clean without having to stretch across his bed, and having him behind be hoping for a dog-biscuit!:D I've also removed the nose-art from the patio door. I want to get everything properly done this week, while I'm between guests, so that it's all clean before Derek and Clive get here, midday on Friday.:o

I tried putting the Dyson round myself on Saturday (usually Mr LW does it) and managed to strain my back good and proper, so having to move very carefully, but I dare say I'll manage.;)

Hi, count me in again this week. I did the lists everyday except the weekend. I kept up with most of it and added some other bits needing doing. I've still a long way to go in my house as its more of a declutter it needs. We are away for a week next week, so will get what I can done this week and sort out winter/summer clothes once I'm back. I need more vacuum bags for the jumpers.
