Where can I get a cheap but long lasting washing machine?

Options
I have 3 kids and do alot of washing. My machine has been unwell for a while and I have paid out a total of £80 to have it fixed in 2006 but now its leaked all over the floor and keeps stopping so I think its on its last legs. Where can I get a decent one which will last at a decent price? Also a tumble dryer? Although not essential would help get the washing done quicker. Thanks.

  • Hi,
It depends on how much you want to spend. I strongly advise you to visit https://www.washerhelp.co.uk. The man who has created this site has an amazing amount of knowledge on washing machines. With his help, I have just bought a machine from John Lewis. I know everyone thinks straightaway 'expensive shop' but they are far from it. I ended up with a 'badged' JLWM (made by Zanussi,Electrolux AEG group) for £299 less a £15 discount coupon that is floating around. It came with free delivery and a massive 3 year guarantee.(Parts & Labour) I ordered it online, the follow up service was second to none, the delivery drivers were professional and polite and it actually came on the day they said it would - a rare occurance these days. Visit their website, it costs nothing to look. By the way the washer is a dream, you hardly know its switched on. Take a look at JL web site, it costs nothing to look. Good Luck, I hope you find what you are looking for. Regards - Sally

I echo everything sallysaver says, and my daughter has just used hers for the first time, and is, as she said 'tragically thrilled by a washing machine".

I love the half hour wash for things that just need to be freshened up.
