Solar Panel Inverter question

Mine is up in the loft and I have never looked at it. Only keep an eye on my generation meter which is downstairs in a cupboard.

Noticed a post earlier quoting lots of technical info re max outputs etc etc.

Is it worth clambering up into the loft for a look ? What data/info can I get from it please.

Thanks in advance.

    I would because I'm curious!

The only real figures that maybe useful to you is generation and possibly peak power. Generation can be taken from the meter as you're doing but peak power will be taken from the inverter. It's of no real use to you though unless you like logging the figures.

What model of inverter do you have?
Some have Bluetooth built in so you can hook them up to your PC to gain these figures.

    Depends on inverter model

    Should have

    Total yeild
    Daily yeild
    power in watts
    voltage
    time / date

    lots of info

best bet is to get a portable monitor device.

SMA sunny beam £160 ish for sunny boy
PVI desktop £280 ish for power one

if you have a SMA 2000HF upwards then you can get sunny explorer for free!
