Leave both accounts open until you know your pay has gone into the new account. Live out of the account into which the pay has gone.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

Ask the people to whom you gave the change of account details.
Remember that the instruction to the bank to pay into your account will be at least two days before payday. That is, if the pay is due in your account on 30 March, the bank would be instructed no later than 28 March.0 -
ah prob too late then, payday is Wednesday and I havent given them the details yet
(new account, should get details tomorrow) ah well next month it is. 0 -
Way too late. Remember how early they need to have expenses claims and the like.. it'll be similar to that. Tell them on this pay day and they may get it sorted for the next pay day.0

That to some extent depends on the size of the employer and whether they use a payroll company or do it in-house.
Initial setting up of an employee can be done quite quickly. For example an agency temp's first pay can be processed in less than two weeks from starting.0 -
Speak to HR or Payroll who will give you the cut off date for it. Normally it is two weeks or so before payday from my experience but it does vary greatly.0
