What help when i go to work?

I know when i get work i will get HB & CTB paid for upto 1month.

Will there be anything i will be entitled to?
Do you still get the back to work grant of £100 for singles and couples or £250 for people with children?

I attended an Interview with a Tesco Distribution Centre on Friday and got a phone call around 7PM. Phonecall said references and everything was fine. Passed drugs test and the intake for monday was full. They said if i want in on the next intake now was the time to say. I said yes and now just waiting for a start date from them.

Don't be harsh on advice i am a long term unemployed so don't know a lot. Been out of work a couple of years, This was actually the first interview i have had since applying for hundreds of jobs.

I think you may get help with travel to work for a few weeks/months are you on the work programme? I told them in the next few weeks my car will be off the road due to minor repairs and they said they'd fund repairs if i got a job.

Maybe if you're on a low income you could get single persons tax credits if your single. Anything else i would ask at the jobcentre to do an in work benefit calculator for you.
  • You might find more help on the Benefits board. Sorry, I'm not sure how you get a thread moved!

If you are long term unemployed you are probably on the Work Programme and if so they will be able to help you with travel to work.

Sorry for late reply. Had a last minute call to rush down and get induction done. Starting full time on Monday at 9:45PM.

Yes i am on the work programme and i have an appointment tomorrow so will speak with them then.

Not 100% sure how i will get to work yet as no busses or trains go there as it's on the dock land. I had a car but funny enough the night before i got call from Tesco, Some little scroat bent the door. When i bent it back i ended up snapping the bottom bend so it was just a split piece of metal hanging around. Up on shutting the door it shattered the window. I sent it to the scrap heap and then got a phonecall a few hours later for interview.
