Is the Ipad 2 reduction worth it

My hubby wants an ipad. He is debating if the reduction on the ipad2 is significant enough or is it worth treating himself to the new ipad3. Just wonder what new ipad3 owners think.

Was your husband looking to spend around £300? If so, there's an iPad 2 on eBay sold by eBuyer Express going for £299.99 + one years manufacturers warranty. Item number: 290686923798.
Otherwise Comet have the iPad 3 for £399 though you may be able to get this for a little less if you follow what's posted here.
You can also get a refurbished iPad 2 for £289 from Apple Store as well.

May be a little cashback for any of the above as well.0 -
I don't know really. When the iPad 2 came out, it was a ooh yes, I will definately get one of those instead of the cheaper iPad 1 (same senario with new iPad, and iPad 2 now) But with the iPad 3 coming out, it's just not got enough for me to desire it over my iPad 2.
It is heavier, there can be some heat issues with the 3G model. I never found the cameras to be awesome for picture taking, but they're still outdated low Megapixel (though I know that's not all there is to a good camera). A few other things. I just don't think they innovated with this iPad compared with the first and second. Hence I don;t think it's worth buying to replace an iPad 2.
Whether I would buy an iPad 2 over an iPad 3 ("new") if I were buying in the market first time, Probably not actually. I'd be thinking, and reading that the differences aren't all that great, and it's not really worth the extra money, when you can get offers like Ebuyer new for iPad 2.0 -
thanks guys, i am sure my OH will find ur comments useful.0

dont buy old technoology.
the ipad2 may seem like a good idea now but once they start developing apps etc. for the ipad 3 then most wont work as good on the ipad 2.
I wouldnt upgrade if I had an ipad2 but if i had neither I would pay the extra and get the new tech0 -

thats a good point. He is going to sell his iphone and get a cheaper mobile so he would have a bit of money from that to justify buyiing the newer model. As he doesnt already have one then it is prob worth going straight for the ipad3, i know he wants to really but he is just trying to justify the expense.

More important question, is the ipad3 worth it? Other than a better camera, though whose walking round with a 10 inch camera i dont know, and maybe a bit faster processor, theres not much in the new ipad, just think of it as another ipad2 deluxe. Is it worth it? Probably not, the ipad will be around fr a long time yet, and the apps for all ipads, are apps for all ipads, just may look a little different.0
