Stupid question about mortgages

Two years ago myself and my mother applied for a mortgage so i could get my first house.
we were approved for an amount of £131k, now i bought a house for £61k and now i'm wanting to move to a bigger one.
so here's the stupid question
does the mortgage transfer to another house? say for instance the next house i wanted was only £109k would my existing mortgage be enough.
or will i have to go through and reapply for the whole thing, problem being in the two years my mother has retired.
any help or advice would be appreciated.

you need to reapply, new application based on current circs and on new house.
You might be able to port a rate e.g. if you were on a fixed rate which is portable but you will be treated as a new application otherwise0
