                    Dear MSE,
I am just coming up to having my JSA Work Programme interview at the Job Centre, however, I am not on full rate JSA due to the following:
1 In receipt of a works pension due to an Industrial Injury
2 Have savings in excess of £6000
3 Work a few hours on an irregular basis
Effectively, I have only been receiving £1.22 PW in JSA and will be submitting my next wage slip soon so this amount will be reviewed, possibly down as I have worked more hours this quarter.
My questions are:
1 Is attending a work programme even mandatory as you have to sign to agree to attend?
2 As I am not of full rate JSA with no other state benefits, can I refuse to sign up for the programme?
3 I actually have a part time job, I will lose earnings, will this exempt me from having to attend?
4 Can I refuse to sign up for the programme, sign off from JSA and re-sign on under my existing JSAg?
5 Is being sanctioned a viable option as I don't receive a great deal in benefits anyway?
Thanking you in advance for any replies.

1. Yes.
2. No.
3. Not sure on this one. They'll probably try to schedule sign in times you're available.
4. No. Once you are referred to the work programme, even if you sign off, once you sign back on you're put in the work programme immediately. It's normally a 2 year contract so if you want the normal JSA sign in you'll have to wait until the work programme's contract expires.
5. Ask someone else. I have no idea.0 -

Easy answer - sign off JSA and you will not need to go.0
