Good luck with the course & hope your OH gets the job he deserves at the end of it Xx

Tell me about it ... I have size 42EE bangers and 33inch legs too.
I have booked OH the course as they had a cancellation for tomorrow. I have also treated myself to a skirt from Sainsburys as they were having a 1/2 price sale. Got some lovely grey and silver trousers from ASDA for £8!! and they are the right length too :T
DVardysShadow - you have a fab idea! I am going to put a pound in a random trolley tomorrow when in the supermarket and hope it brings someone else some luck.
And as for a treat ... going to the pub for a sunday lunch (2 for £8) and might blow the diet for one day and have some icecream

If the course is a well run one I would expect it to have employment statistics on people who have done it- did they find a relevant job and how long did it take them - well worth asking. Also how long does the qualification last? But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Hi Cookiee.
Congrats on the win. I echo what others have said - the FLT course, even though it won't guarantee a job, is one more skill on a CV in a very competitive job market. I love DVardys post btw.
Oh and on the subject of boobies - 34G - beat that :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I hate them!

Piglet :-D if u have a smaller waist than a size 16 then I will swap lol
I have just treated ourselves to sunday dinner and I felt so guilty at spending £17 for 2 drinks, 2 dinners and some icecream but the last time I had a pub dinner must have been Oct last year (and even then I didn't pay ha ha)
I have set up a spreadsheet counting down my payments and my est DFD is Jan 2016 :-( BUT ... when OH gets a job should be able to get this changed to July 2014 :-D
Need to do a new SOA to see where I can scrape some more savings ...0 -

Don't feel guilty about the Sunday dinner spend. You've been blessed with a 'gift'. Things have been tough and you've done something with your DH that you might not have done otherwise. A little lift is ok sometimes...

Doing the FLT course will make your OH more employable. The big earner will be the reach part as these are the sort used on building sites. The hourly pay for these is £10+ compared to NMW for counterbalance.
If the course has one available on site, he should enquire about the costs of adding side-loader and bendi-truck as these are what the majority of warehouses use these day and it would give him a huge advantage as most people only have the basic Reach or C/B certificate so would need to be put through a course again.
I missed-out on FLT truck training when the funding provider failed to get a course organised in time.Never Knowingly Understood.

I think on balance I would have gone with the training as well.
ref the washing machine, don't discount your local freecycle group. Sometime people do give away working washing machines on there.
Same with work clothes, you may get lucky and get someones wardrobe clearout..I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

I'd go for the training too.
Washing machine - you can bag washing machines on freecycle or on ebay quite cheaply if necessary and for a few weeks go to the laundrette at the weekend (you can shoehorn in some good reading time while waiting for the machines
)
Clothing - personally if my clothes are too big I use my inexpert (but improving) sewing skills to take them in and if the job is beyond me sometimes I just safety pin it! As long as I have a top that covers it, no-one sees.
Also think about charity shops if you don't already. I found two skirts for work in the charity shop at the weekend, one from next and the other M&S, both my size, brand new with tags still on for £4 each. One was marked £29.99 and the other £19.99."carpe that diem"0 -
Hi peeps
Just a quick note to say OH passed both his FLT licences this week :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j
Now onto the job hunt. His ESA last payment is wednesday so as of the following week we will have no money coming in.
The agencies are not forthcoming with jobs, even with these 2 licences  but I can only hope something does come up soon ..
Thanks for your lovely words
P.S. I put a £1 coin in a shopping trolley and passed it to a lady who looked like she was on her last teather, she gave me the biggest smile and made my day (I know it was only a £1 but hey I wouldn't have got £500 without that £1 :rotfl:)
