Want to sell my share of house to ex

I hope I've posted this in the correct place, apologies if not.
My problem is that my name is on the the deeds of my old house where my abusive ex still lives. He's adamant he won't sell the house and give me my share and I've let him have his own way for the last 4 years because our 18 year old daughter still lives with him and he's aggressive to her if he doesn't get his own way. (She didn't want to move out as she was happy to stay there). As he is in his 50s and has had a heart attack 5 years ago I'm not sure if he would be able to re-mortgage the house to 'buy me out'.
I am living in a damp flat at the moment and have Rheumatoid Arthritis which hasn't been helped by the condition of the flat. Money is very tight so can't affford to move out yet. Also affording a solicitor would be impossible. I can't claim any benefits as my name on the deeds to that house and I'm always being told that it's an asset.
I don't know what I can do to even just get my name off the deeds.
I would appreciate any advice I could get. Thankyou:(

Take legal advice. You do have the right to force a sale.

Thanks for advice. My daughter is at university so needs to stay at the house for as long as she can. Will try the link. Thanks again.0
