Advice on wifes tax and ni

HI,

My wife has not worked for over 13 years but has recently started to look for a little job that she could do from home.

A local company has offered her some envelope packing from home and has said they will pay her £250 a month to do this. (it will only consist of 3 days work a month)

She also does a little admin work for her fathers company and is down as earning £1200 a year.

So potentially she will now be earning £4200 PA.

So the question is does she have to pay any tax and NI.

The envelope packing company has just asked for her to send them a sort of invoice every month for £250 and they will pay her by cheque.

I have a full time job and pay tax and NI.

Many thanks for any advice

Tax allowance in this year is £7475 so she wouldnt pay tax.

NI is not payable either, I think the level at which you start to pay NI is about £120 a week, she would be allowed this x 2 because of 2 seperate jobs.

If you have children, and the child benefit is in her name then she will get NI credits.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

This used to be until you stopped getting CB but it's only until the youngest is 12 now.
