Maybe because you said you were going to pay £100 but only paid £20 ? Why didn't you just pay the £100 straight back if you didn't ask for it ? Me smells something fishy :)

How did they get your bank details if you decided not to go for a loan with them?

Willy (or Neil), STOP throwing your bank account details around, keep them a secret to you.

ONLY give them out if you actually want something and understand what is going to happen. NEVER EVER sign up for something "just in case you might need it one day"

And you are already on a DMP so shouldn't be looking to dig yourself even deeper into trouble.

about 8 days after i got an email saying i was late paying this off and i was going to get charged £60 extra.
i emailed them and i explained what had happened, and i told them i would pay £100 back.
    they agreed with this.
i paid £20 to them but a week later they took £280 out of my account on payday.
£80 i owed+ £200 of charges .how can they do this?

Why did you not give them the £100 back. By not giving them back this money you have presumably agreed to the loan and therefore all the excessive interest and admin charges that come with this loan.

Also, why did you give your bank details if you decided against the loan?

If this was a mistake on their part then the easiest way would be to have returned the money immediately and made a complaint, not take their money refuse to give it back and then complain!
