UK - Employer grant scheme

Is there a scheme in the UK where the DWP pay an employer for recruiting someone who is on jobseekers?

Basically gone for an interview. I am on agency books (a finders fee will apply if I’m successful).

The recruiter told me off the record unless the agency come down in fees, I won’t be selected as other 2 candidates are not agency and free to hire!

I am trying to look at ways to overcome this as I really would like the job. It's unfair I will be prejudiced against as I am agency!

I could only find this from 2 years ago that DWP will play employers cash for taking people of the dole?

    That's from 3 years ago.

So they have told you you wont get the job at all really as you are via an agency. Makes me wonder why they have wasted your time. The DWP do not pay anyone for getting them off the dole. I guess if you don't get the job you know why.

    PS
    Just found this

Seems if you are on the WP aged 18-24 they will pay

OK thanks for that. I wasn't too sure if the scheme was still going.

All I can hope is that I beaten the candiates by a good margin & the employers see paying the fees as worthwhile!

I think what they were driving at the agency would have to reduce there fees then it would ok?

why dont you speak to the agency.

THere are two main types of agency, and it might depend on the job level, for many roles, a fee is not required as there are enough applicants anyway, in these circumstances it is better to apply direct, on the other hand, if the employer is after a more senior position, they will want an agent to do the initial leg work for them and are happy to pay the relevant fee

Try your local council for funding.
