Does this also apply to people on temporary contracts? (directly employed not through an agency)Equal treatment
Your employer must treat all employees and workers equally. If your employer offers the option of unpaid leave or flexible working this should be available to all workers - regardless of whether you are full time or part time.
If you are an agency worker, you should speak to your employment agency about your rights.
When I went for the interview they brought up the fact that they have a flexible working policy and I could i.e. start at X O'clock - I didn't know this before the interview but after being offered the position I contacted them about it and they haven't sent me any reply - I am due to start on Monday - I was thinking to phone today but thought it might be better to speak to them in person on Monday

It might be better to prove your worth and show you can do the job before asking for "rights ". It's a temporary contract and one I assume you would like to be permanent? Having the first question you ask being how late can I come in doesn't look too good.0

Yes I understand this - however I live a while away from the office and they were the ones who actually suggested me coming in late in the first placemarybelle01 wrote: »It might be better to prove your worth and show you can do the job before asking for "rights ". I'd play by the book first off and get your feet under they desk and show them that you can do the job. Ease into the workplace opportunities when you have done that. Remember that flexible works both ways and there may be times when they want your in early. But in the meantime I would stick as close as possible to relatively standard hours and get a feel for the place and your colleagues before asking for anything.0
