The JC dont know about my part time studying for this same reason. I am actually trying to better myself, but they only like it when they can bully you in to doing the courses like learn direct, which i found unhelpful.

swine n wine? Sounds like an off licence that sells bacon rolls.

Yea i love bacon, and of course i remember you... how could i not? :rotfl:
I'm afraid you left less of an impression on me!

i'm not here to impress you anyway... don't need to... (or do i?)
Anyway, it is lying because by signing, you are declaring you are and were available for work during the signing period. if you are on a course then you weren't available. It will effect [sic] your JSA.

Lying? ok. (he/she can look for work and do a course at the same time ya know) - it's called 'Human multitasking' perhaps you've heard of it darling. (oh i say.. tut tut)

    - Anyway none of the JC's business if he does a course which gives help or skills i would do the the course and look for stable employment at the same time. (you can find the time)

Do talk to someone else about this, as I was told I could do a part time course with no problem, so confused as to why they say no to this.

I was sent off to apply for LearnDirect courses, which I was expected to pay for myself. Which cost more than I got in JSA a week. So there we go.

Ignore the little hitlers in the JC. They probably get bonus payments for making claimants go on shoddy courses and unpaid 'work experience'.

Don't tell them. Keep applying for jobs as normal and deal with any interviews that come up during the time.

There is no reason why you couldn't be available for work. If a paying job was suddenly available that clashed with the course there is no reason why the course couldn't be re-arranged or the hours for the paying job altered. Either way it is better than not bettering yourself due to the JC's short sighted and pig ignorant behaviour.

You could easily have had flu for two weeks or sprained an ankle... some rules are so stupid they should just be ignored.

Escape the benefit trap as soon as you can mate.
I was made redundant and spent 4 weeks on the dole, first time I have ever been out of work since about 17 and I wasn't impressed.
I went to my first interview with them to see what I had been doing and was told I had to apply for 2 jobs a fortnight minimum.
I presented the chap with the 30 odd applications I had done in the last week and never saw him again as I decided to go contracting the week after for an agency.
That then led on to my current job, get away from the JC as soon as you can mate - do agency work - do any agency work and keep clear of benefits as long as you possibly can.
I was made to feel like a lazy doley lifer at my first interview and I had only been out of work about a fortnight.
If I am ever laid off again the very next day I'll be at the agencies door again to avoid the JC.

Your taring ALL job centres advsors with the same brush which is wrong since not all the advisors are like the 1 you saw/make you feel like a lazy doley lifer.

Yes ive been on JSA but it wasnt that bad, i wasnt made to feel like a lazy doley lifer at all but i bet there were those who were a lifer.

Its alright saying go for contract/agency work but if no agency will take you on then why not apply for JSA.
