Hi folks, a need a 12v battery but it need to be a certain type for a kids battery powered car. As you can see from the pic, the top of the battery is different from the norm - it has a facility for a power/recharge plug which is part of the car.

Does anyone know who sells such a battery or where I can get a standard battery modified to include the charging addition on top of it. Ta.

The problem is that the power cable that connects the car to the battery uses this type of connection. When I visited a couple of battery businesses in Belfast (one on lower Ravenhill Rd and Fyfe's up the Castlereagh Rd) they just looked blankly at me :(

Have you tried Maplin? They do a lot of stuff for remote-control cars and it looks like the type of thing they should have.

yup,but it will be a standard battery underneath
so you need to see how that cover comes off
so you buy a standard battry and fit that cover back in
I dont see a toy car maker ordering bespoke batteries

Thanks for the replies. I might just attack it with a screwdriver to see if the top comes off and get see if Fyfes can attach a new battery to it

Hi, have you tried your local independent toy shops. I needed a new battery for my sons car, and contacted Spot On Sports and Toys in Kilkeel, and they were able to source a battery for me
