Small workplace pension

So I tracked down an old workplace pension, which is invested in aviva balanced managed s2. It's a very small amount.

Is this something that would still be worth paying into? I am thinking about starting to pay into this pension again. It says that I could just re-start payments...

thanks...

Does the company you work for offer a pension scheme.

  • Hi yes, it does and i'm in it, just taking the free contributions only (5 per cent of salary and they wouldn't match if I put in anything else), but i don't fancy paying in anything else into that (it's with co-op - which I don't like) and I'm not paying enough at the moment

Cant think why yo dont like the coop, Ive been with them for years, House, car, endowments, pensions, always had excellent service from them.

Why not just transfer the old pension into this one or just leave it to mature over the years.

I don't know any thing about your old pension, but you are right- you aren't paying enough in.

So, if the old one has investment you like to choose from, and the charges are acceptible it is better than not contributing. But get your skates on you only have 2 weeks before the financial year ends to put in a lump sum for this year?

Next year you can do ti monthly

Their investment products are not great. Usually an easy one for an IFA to justify moving on to something better.
