What is the budget for the printer
Will it be used to print photos and what quality does the scanning and photocopying need to be?
Will compatible inks be used?0 -
Avoid any combination machines - they never work well and only multiply potential problems. Better to have separates.
I have a Kyocera laser. Black and white, reliable, very fast, automatic duplex printing. All for much less than equivalent other-name machines."Never underestimate the mindless force of a government bureaucracyseeking to expand its power, dominion and budget"Jay Stanley, American Civil Liberties Union.0 -
Budget is up to about £70, it's really just to print of vouchers, invoices etc, just basic A4 sheets, so nothing really special and maybe the odd photo, but not very often and yes to the use of compatible inks.0

Compatible inks here, these have 18ml per black cartridge and 15ml ink per colour cartridges

Check for better prices for anything listed
This is close in price to your budget limit but has double sided printing

The above are over specs for most of the printing requirements listed, but both will produce quality photos when needed.0 -

Inkjet printers in that price range tend to be sold at a loss with costly cartridges to make the profits. I'd be more tempted by a black and white laser as they're very cheap to use, high quality back and white and no liquid ink to dry out if not used for a while. For those occasional photos you're probably better off using a photo printing service (online or in a shop) and borrowing their very expensive photo-quality printer. I worked out they're often cheaper per page than using an inkjet at home anyway! Only downside is it's not instant, but is that essential or not?0 -
Thank you all very much, a great help,0
