I've just seem this in our local Tesco.
Maybe I'm being too devious, but it strikes me that a lot of compatibles are less than £4 new, so you could buy a cartridge, use it, send it off to tesco and make a profit!
Details from their website http://www.tesco.com/clubcard/clubcard/partners/?page=recycle are:
Inkjet Cartridges
For each inkjet cartridge that you recycle, you will receive 100 Green Clubcard Points or you can choose for Tesco to donate £1 to the British Red Cross.
All you need to do is:
Place your empty inkjet cartridges in the envelope - you can pick one up in store.
Fill out the tear-off slip at the top of the envelope and place it INSIDE the envelope with your phone. Remember to put your Clubcard number on the tear-off slip.
Seal the envelope and pop it in the post - you don't even need a stamp.
We'll recycle your inkjet cartridge and follow your instructions on giving you Green Clubcard Points or donating money to the British Red Cross on your behalf.
Please note: although all inkjet cartridges will be recycled, points/donations can only be given for cartridges that work in your:
Hewlett Packard printer
Lexmark printer
Dell printer
Canon BC02/05/20/BX2/BX5 printers
see website for full listing: https://www.therecyclingfactory.com
Mods - just seen MSE Archna got there well before me:
