does anyone know why energy saving lightbulb priceses have gone through the roof?
profiteering? (as the 60w bulbs have been phased out).

They still seem pretty cheap to me, maybe £2-3 each for standard ones. However, the massive discounts at 10p each may be gone for good now, Basically, people pretty much *have* to buy them, so why subsidise them to encourage sales?0

i remember buying some good ones from Tesco for 20p not long ago.0

Chris 'perverting the course of justice' Huhne caused this when he told the energy suppliers to stop the subsidy on energy saving bulbs and subsidise insulation instead.
The really cheap ones were a result of a sell-off due to a change in some law or other which required the design life of the bulbs to increase to ten years.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
