Right to buy deposits

Options
Hi,
I am a council tennant with the full 70% discount (flat). Do I require a deposit for a mortgage or does my discount act as a deposit - also would I be able to borrow more than the discounted price for home improvements?

Comments

  • No deposit needex, and yes you could borrow more for home improvements only. The council will need proof by the way.

As its a coucil flat, I would check with lenders first about the property type etc some can lay restrictions ie no more than 3 floors brick and tile only.
