Confused ON PPI

Hi, I'm new to the PPI claims so am a little unsure of a reply I've received. I had a loan with Virgin money using the template provided on the PPI page sent this to the customer service liaison manager of st andrews group plc.
Do they then sell the information to a PPI claim Serive as I have now had a phone call from a PPI claim company during the call they confirm all the infomation I sent to the liaison manager. All I have done is confirm my information with them. Near the end off the call they said if the claim is successful you will be charged 25% + VAT.
Why would my information be sold I wanted to do it myself I do not want to pay 25%+vat. They are sending papper work out to me to sign but feel very negative about this....

This is wrong, you need to contact them in writing and tell them you do not wish to proceed with this claim and you are reporting them to the ICO and the claims management regulator,do not sign and return the forms, did they take money up front?.
Get in touch with the service manager at St Andrews group plc and ask why they passed your details to this company, tell them you are reporting them to the ICO.
Did you put a claim in for ppi mis sell? you should have sent this to Virgin not the insurer.
Jump on this tomorrow do not let them get away with this.

Thanks sould like it is my fault did not relise who to send it to so sent it to St Andrews not virgin I have not paid any upfront fee, or sign any information and will not be. I will send them a letter and ask them why they have done this.
I did put in a claim for ppi miss sell!0 -
Do as i said and contact the claims co and St Andrews and tell them you are not happy with this, phone the numbers i gave and complain about them.
Wait until you have it in writing that the claims co know you do not wish to proceed, i would not trust them now, they will have put the claim into Virgin, do the claim to Virgin and tell them what has happened and under no circumstances do they accept anything from the claims co or St andrews as they will take a % of your win if they are not stopped, look how they reeled you in and they will do it again regardless of you signing anything.
Who is this company?.0 -
I really cant rember the company name they are ment to be sending me information about it for me to sign but i will not be, when i get the letter from them if i send them a letter to say i do not want to go ahead with it will that be enought? For them to stop!!!0

Hi there
Follow what amersall have suggested and that is right, when the paperwork arrives don't sign anything, as you've not agreed in the first place for them to take your case on for you.
As you are aware, it's something you can do without using a claims company, with free help, templates/reclaim questionnaire from this site, and of course less hassle as well as less paperwork.
Good luck, also remember to call the above companies amersall have posted. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
This is disgusting and needs reporting, maybe a complaint to FOS and the FSA?, St Andrews should not be allowed to get away with this, wonder if they are getting a commission from the claims co, just like the banks did with PPI?.
This claim should have been passed to Virgin Money or at the least let the op know that is who the claim should be made to...methinks they did not do this for the commission reason.0
