Annuity advise.

Hi Everyone.
My wife has just received the annuity offer from her Pearl Freedom Bond which is due in April 2012.
She has a fund of £21.873.00 with an offer of a £1234.56 annuity per year with a 5 year guarantee. She is a non smoker and is in good health.
We are going to shop around.
Any recommendations would be appreciated (keep it clean).

Thank you all for your time.
Kind regards.
Lyn and Bob.

Any local IFA should be able to to this with their eyes closed. So, no real recommendation needed. Just find a local one.

As dunstonh says contact a local ifa as they will take commission from the best provider, if the ifa doesn't get it then the insurance company just keeps it. One thing to note is to check charges with the ifa, as the small pension fund may mean that they might want to make a charge for their time as well, ie commission alone may not be enough.
  • Hi Guy's.
Thank you for your reply's.Just looked at the document and it is a Pearl Feedom Bond Section 32 with GMP.
Do we now have to find a company that would deal with the section 32.

    Thank you once again.

The IFA will advise. You need to be particularly careful in view of the gmp, possible GAR (which I seem to remember came with some of these plans) and the upcoming abolition of protected rights - I'm not sure how this might affect your situation but a qualified ISA will be.
