we pay!!
Can anyone offer advice please?
My husband took out a mortgage in approx 1987 with his previous wife, but the property was repossessed when they split. The debt is now managed by Mortgage Express.
Ever since their split he has paid a regular monthly amount, agreed by them, towards his half of the outstanding debt. The amount has always increased, never been reduced, even though we have written to MX to inform them that my husband now works part time due to ill health.
We are happy to pay the same amount, have never not paid, and have never said we wont to pay, BUT every time we receive any correspondence from MX they threaten us with debt collection agencies and go on about what we should do if we are having trouble paying.
We have never had trouble paying but they dont listen! They dont seem to acknowledge that we pay - EVERY MONTH!!
They now want us to complete an income and expenditure form and if we dont, they will involve a debt collection agency. Surely they are for people who dont pay, and we do!
We feel harassed.. Can they threaten us, even though we pay them religiously every month??
Sorry to rant! This is our first ever posting on here....

Ignore them. The only time you have to give an income and expenditure statement is to a court.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

On the other hand, if your financial circumstances have changed for the worse, completing a financial assessment form might just get the payments lowered.0

It looks to me as though the ex is paying nothing, so they want him to pay as the line of least resistance. He could pursue the ex himself for her half - or scale back to nominal £1/month payments and point the lender in the direction of the ex.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Then provide what they've requested. Far better to take a co-operative approach than appear to be hiding something.
If you are hiding income and the matter goes to court. Your debt will merely be increased as costs will be awarded.0
