As you get 10 cakeboxes of discs I would have thought you'd be getting 250 discs but it does say 240. Including delivery they work out at just under 12p each (9p each excluding delivery).
Ye'!, And!!?. How am I supposed to know?

Years ago I can remember having to buy CDRs very carefully to ensure compatability with readers/writers, but in modern times have found EVERY disc I've ever bought works in EVERY reader (PC, laptop, DVD recorded, DVD writer, DVD player) and writer in my house.

So does this dye business matter?

    DVDR dye does matter, yes.

Cheap dyes don't last as long.

I bought Gigatain DVD-R 25 pack a while ago, with the MCC dye 8x for £5. Burnt at 8x most of the way through the disk using an LG GSA 4167B. Only one disk duffed up towards the end and jumps when I play it in my dvd player, the other 24 are fine. But it is not that much of a good deal. Recently Choice did 50 Infiniti with the same dye for 4.81 and Shopneo did Dysan 25 for 3.14 both inclusive of delivery, although it seems that shopping at ShopNeo may not have been a money saver for some people whose credit card details got leaked.

Just because only one of them died during recording doesn't mean that the other 24 are going to last any decent amount of time.

Yes, I agree Kilty, and I didn't say they would last. Nothing lasts forever (except Toyota's) especially when you make compromises between cost. If someone want DVD's that lasts, buy Taiyo Yuden or Tyler Duerden as my mate calls them :rotfl: but Verbatim are a good second choice with the MKM or MCC dye.

To get an indication of how good they are and how long they may last I would have to do PI error, PO error, Jitter test and I do not have the a second DVD writer to do that.

What are you on about Moneysaving? MCC is probably one of the top 3 dyes available.

Yep, MCC (Mitsubishi Chemical Corp.) is one of the best DVD dye with the best being the dye Taiyo Yuden discs have.
