Renewable Energy Payments (NIROCs)

Hello all,
I've been round the internet and back and most of the information I can find on payments for using renewable energy seems to pertain to installations in England and Wales.
I have found this information from Power NI which explains the situation in Northern Ireland - http://www.powerni.co.uk/saving-energy/renewable-energy/powerni-generation-tariff/.
But I don't really understand it all.
Can anybody help simplify it for me?
I'd like to install a Solar PV system in a new build.

If you install Solar PV you will be paid 17.22p/kWh for every unit you produce, even the ones you use yourself, this is paid once a year.
You will also be paid 6.39p/kWh for every unit you sell back to the grid i.e. the units you produce but do not use yourself. This is also paid once per year0 -

Ah, good stuff. That's a bit easier to read/understand!
What does the bit about branding level mean? For Solar Photovoltaic it says 4 ROCs.
Do you have any experience with renewable energy CL? Is Solar Photovoltaic the way to go or is Solar Thermal better? Or a mix of both?0 -
I am not sure about Solar, I generate wind energy so that is how I know about the ROC's, i'm not to sure about branding, they cahnge it all the time for new generators and different forms of grants/incentives
Basically ROCs are renewable obligation certificates and they sell on a market for energy providers, the type of generation you have determines how many ROCs you earn0 -
So do the ROCs only really concern the energy provider?
I take it it's the amount of ROCs a certain renewable energy is eligble for is what sets the price the energy provider is prepared to pay for your energy?
Do I just need to concern myself with the amount they pay for the generation/export and just not worry about the ROCs?0
