TV from John Lewis

Looking for some advise please....

Bought a TV from John Lewis in June 2002 - Switchit on today and there are 2 lines right across the screen so obviously requires repair etc.

However, having moved house since I bought it I lost a lot my receipts etc - Do you know if when I call John Lewis they can still track this?

I have tried calling tonight but the dept is closed - Going to phone tomorrow ut just wondering if anybody can help.

They should have a record of your purchase. If not, how did you pay? was it by credit card? if so, have you still got a copy of your bank statement as this will show when you paid.

Have you got a 5 year garentee then???
They usually archieve audit rolls etc but try finging the right onr from 5 years ago it will take quite a few hours i would imagine. i expect they will turn this back to you and say its up to to proove purchase and not them.

John Lewis are normally very good at keeping records.

They managed to replace my lost sunglasses with an identical pair after checking their records to find the exact style. This was 3 years after I'd originally bought them.

John Lewis televisions all have a 5 year guarantee as standard.

Paid by card - However I only keep around 24 months Bank Statement.

Will try them in the morning.

my dad bought one from there last mth packed in within a week - picture went funny. They kept him waiting ages to collect it and then said he would have to wait for a refund then place a new order.
He went to currys instead.

If the tv was delivered they may have the details under your old home address. They do keep a record now because everytime you buy a tv it goes through their system. If they don't find it you should be able to contact your bank and ask them for a statement for that month. They may charge.
