BR next wed - advice please

Hi

I am due in court for BR next wednesday. I am claiming some benefits but my mom who can help me out but not contribute to the household etc will make up the shortfall on my SoA.. The problem is my soA shows a negative. I don't get any money from her but she will pay bills etc until I get a new job. My business folded last year and I am jointly liable for many of the debts. I have done a summary version of the SoA below. Sorry for being vague but I don't want any of my ex partners to know I'm going BR as I don't want them trying to shift the debt to me prior to my BR to get them out of it - yes I' feeling vindictive.

Thought please - but mainly on the negative SoA

Have added a few comments, not sure if they will be of any help to you. Have you taken advice about BR? Some of your figures are extremely high for 1 person, and that is not being judgemental but trying to be pragmatic over the figures. Your negative amount on the SOA again is very high, and I would think the judge would question how you are going to cope once you are BR, I know you said your mother will help you but you are going to have to show that on your SOA.

  • If I show it on the SoA is that legally enforceable - so if she's giving me x amount then is that enforceable? She's happy to make up differences but not be part of any court papers. i.e. if I !!!! her off again I can go swivel in the wind was her statement

I live in a three bed house I have rented for four years. even one bed flat around here is 500 do it'd not that expensive.

I have sought advice from CCSS, pay plan etc and BR is the only option. I may get work next week, it may be several months. Once I get work, an IPA will be granted I know that but its better than the bank of mom. Its just the lag until something comes up

Are you claiming housing benefit LHA? What is the rate in your area? I suspect that your rent being so high is not balancing the books.

Remember also that a 3 bed property will cost more to heat/ electric than a 1 bed property.

    Do you need a car?
