I love the Lidl offers, especially the pork and onions and a taste of Itlay will be a treat ;)
Anyway has anyone tried the jar of mushrooms? they look like they could be a good store cupboard thing if they're good?

When I read the post I thought it was sliced fresh mushrooms so I was pleased-I've never had jarred mushrooms before and not sure I am convinced. Anyone ever tried?

I'd be interested too. They look like they might have a strange texture-possibly a bit 'slimy'?

They're okay as antipasti, to add to salads, bruschetta etc but no substitute for fresh.

Just popped into Lidl again this morning and noticed they were selling great big punnets of strawberries for £1.19. Seemed like a good deal! :j

I don't think it's a weekend offer or anything, but I thought it was worth mentioning!

Yes. Not just the eggs but everything gone up in "cheap" Lidl... Do they think we will not notice it because it's Lidl???

"Thank you for your enquiry regarding our egg prices, due to a new EU regulation on eggs there has been a European wide shortage which has lead to a price increase across the board. As a discounter, we always ensure that our prices remain competitive and that we are continually offering our customers high quality products at the lowest possible price. We have passed your comments on to our buying team, thank you for your feedback."

thats the reply on their facebook page about the rise in egg prices
