Baliff off my back

Hi i thought i would re post regarding the Baliffs and my recent visits from them. They are now off my back, and i am re paying the council tax debt back in weekly installments of £3.40.
Two weeks ago i was in a blind panic when a Baliff from Rossendales called at my property. luckly i was out, so he didnt gain entry. Panic set in, i was frantic looking up my rights and posting for help as what to do.
After posting on this website and visiting sites that told me about the bailiff law etc.(and getting advice from the national debt help line) i wrote to Rossendales, telliing them that i knew my rights and that visiting my property would be a waste of time because i had no intention of letting them in. i also told them about my money situation and sent them a income expenditure, also telling them i fall within the vunrable peoples bracket etc etc.
I got another visit from the baliff last thursday 16th march. again i was out;). Yesterday morning 20th march i got a letter from rossendales excepting my offer of weekly payments. I rang them to make sure i had read the letter right, they where all apolagetic on the phone, and even agreed to send out another letter stating the Baliff will not be calling again. RESULT :j:j:j
SO THANKYOU TO ALL WHO GAVE ME ADVICE  i am now also tackling other priority debts, as it was never my intention not to pay i just needed breathing space. and my advice to anyone would be, KNOW YOUR RIGHTS, be polite, and stick to your guns, if i can get a result anyone can and i did this all within two weeks so it is possible. ok the debts are still with me but being paid in smaller managable chunks. the other none priority debts well they are at the bottom of the list and can stay there until i sort out the priority, so i guess those debts will die with me. but for the first time in years i can breath.
thanks to all

Well done initdeep, its a good feeling when you finally find the confidence to face up to your situation, and as you illustrate, you CAN get results from tackling things rather than ignoring them hoping it.ll all go away, which I think is true for many of us on here!
Keep up the good work
and thanks for sharing
You'll make my day if I know I've been helpful to you in some small way,
