Is it possible to amend full mortage offer?

Im in the process of buying my council flat. And have a full mortage offer in place with the halifax for 46k. I called my solictor today for an update and she was still waiting to hear from the council and was going to chase them up.

Then later on I got a call for the council right to buy team, to say that we have a revised offer being sent to us next week to buy the flat for 40k as the discount cap is being increased from up to 34k off to up to 75k off. We are really pleased obviously :j

im planning on calling halifax tomorrow, should they be able to amend our existing mortage offer or will we have to pay all the fees again?

Notify them of the revised discounted purchase price and they will simply press a button and issue a revised offer immediately.
