Thoughts on semi permanent eyelashes

Hi guys,

As the above says...what are your thoughts?

I'm not talking about the DIY ones you can buy from the shops but the one you get done in the salon and take about 2hrs?

I've had the DIY ones and I liked the way they looked, do the salon ones look better and more natural? I know there is up keep with them every 2-3 weeks.

Just would like your thought and experiences...good and bad.

Thanks in advance! :)

My thoughts and experiences are that the salon ones are a waste of money, they don't last anywhere near 2-3 weeks and the behave in exactly the same way as the ones I do at home, if you customise strip lashes you can have whatever look whenever you want very cheaply, my top tip is buy some separate decent glue, MAC duo glue is popular and also comes in black but my fave atm is Eyelure, I wear lash extensions/fake lashes every day:)

I've had semi permanent lashes done for nearly a year now and wouldn't be without them!

I had the initial set done for my wedding and they cost £75 and took about an hour and a half to do. They lasted about 2 and a half weeks and when I got home from honeymoon I had them infilled which took about 40 mins and cost £20. I now have them topped up every 2 weeks and I love them. I love waking up in the morning with big dark lashes and rarely wear any make up except for some concealer and blusher which takes a minute to do in the morning and it's great not having to tackle the removal of mascara every night. I also used to find mascara really irritated my eyes so the extensions are a godsend for me.

I have to cut back on other luxuries to afford to have them done but I'm addicted and think I'll have them forever now!

I had them done once last year as a one off. But they made such a difference that I then felt naked when they came out.

Everyone commented on them so they must make a difference.

I'm really not into beauty treatments and things at all, but this is my one thing that I have found myself sucked into. I go every 2 to 3 weeks to get them infilled, they usually last this long.

Given that i don't spend money on hair cuts (£8 dry trim!) or any other beauty type things that most people probably do, it doesn't seem unreasonable to get them done maybe twice a month.

Priced around me vary hugely....luckily my most local salon only charge £25 for in-fills, which is much cheaper than a lot of places.

I had them done last year and whilst I really liked the look I hated how they felt. I couldn't rub my eyes so had to be really careful whenever I washed my face, it felt like they were really stiff and poking me all the time and I never forgot that they were there! I kind of want to try getting them done by someone else to see if it was just a bad experience for me, but I can't justify the cost to go through the discomfort again if it feels as bad as it did! :o
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

I had the same experience - had to be so careful washing my face, taking makeup off etc. I had them done for about 6 months then got fed up with the hassle and the cost.

If you do have them done or indeed do them yourself its worth remembering that water (shower etc) and heat (hairdryer etc) is now your enemy and will destroy your lashes.

Completely understand where you're coming from there regarding washing your face, I was exactly the same. Took me at least a couple of months to get used to that, and now I've just kind of adapted the manner in which I wash my face, and am so used to it that it doesn't bother me any more.

The bit about them feeling like they are poking you....never had that. Sounds to me as though the person that did them for you, perhaps used too long a length?
