Can I claim PPI on mortgage?

I am helping a friend . I have claimed on his TMPP payment insurance and won but when Halifax sent the letter they up held the TMPP part and not the individual PPI I got confused and looking at paperwork thought the monthly payment for PPI was part of the TMPP This was not the case and they have sent a refusal for the other signed on the same day which seems ludicrous . I am now appealing their decision . Their reasons are all assumptions but how can they uphold one and refuse the other sold at the same time on the same day
The TMPP is a multi-segment policy that can contain life assurance, critical illness cover, income protection and MPPI. Obviously, only the MPPI segment is PPI.
Halifax roll over easily on the PPI side (often doing auto-payout). However, they will not do auto-payout on the other segments and will review the complaint on those. Each segment would be considered on its own merit. its hard to complain about life assurance and critical illness cover with mortgages so they are often easy rejections (and rightfully so).I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I'm claiming a seperate pip which they set up on the same day for the same mortgage . Not disputing the insurance and critical life . They have already paid out on the PPIpart of the TMPP it's just so odd that both were taken out at the same time and yet they didn't uphold the PPI which was separate . Hopefully they will review it Is this usual for them to set up TMPP AND PPI for the same mortgage0
