nil tax IPA help

i was hoping someone could help
we received a letter yesterday from tax to say that they are putting my OH on nil tax IPA until april 2012 (so for a month) but we have not heard from the OR and do not know what to do with this extra money i know we cannot keep it but does the OR call us to tell us where to send it or what happens?
also just because we have nil tax IPA does that mean we do not have an IPA or is this just something you get regardless?
any advice on this would be apprecaited
thanks x

Hi Molly, there is a chance that you will be able to keep the money as sometimes the OR does not set up the paperwork for just 1 month, but obviously keep it safe for the moment in case they do ask for it.
This does not affect either way any other surplus IPA you may or may not getHi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.

Does that mean there a chance or won't claim one months tax? Surely under terms of BR we have to inform them of any change to income (due to extra tax) or do we just put to one side and wait for them to ask? At what point would they have to do this?
I don't want to get in to trouble but would be great if we got to keep this (wishful thinking)
Seems strange set up for 1 month

Hi Molly
The OR informs you via a letter stating the tax that is owed and for how many months. My OH got a letter stating a nil tax code was in place until April 12 then a letter from the OR stating how much for (the tax amount as your OH would have stated on the BR forms). We have to save the tax and send it in one lump sum at the start of the following month. If you have only just gone BR then await the letter from the OR, it may follow shortly or email the OR about the extra money if you are concerned about not hearing as it may only play on your mind.0
