Payroll query - Monthly to 4 Weekly

Hi there,
a poser for the smarter bears out there.
I'm not getting satisfactory answers from my HR department so I'm hoping you guys can give me some clear sums!
Salaried employees were paid monthly (28th of each month).
We were then informed that we would move to 4 weekly along with the rest of the business, with our last monthly pay on 28th Nov 2011 and the first 4 weekly paid Dec 30th 2011.
This was further complicated as the 4 weekly pay period started on Nov 28th, finishing on Dec 25th and paid on Dec 30th, so Nov's final salary payment included the days 28th, 29th &30th, these were deducted from Decembers first 4 weekly payment making Christmas really tight!
The question I've been asking is this:
If I've been paid monthly I earn X, but moving to 4 weekly I then receive Y which is less than X obviously, but as the change is part way through the year, come the end of the tax year I will have been paid less?
So, a money example to ensure I explain where I see the problem, if there is one?!
I get paid £12000 per year, payable monthly so that is £1000 per month.
I am paid that £1000 from April through to November, then from December they pay me 4 weekly so I receive £900.
So for the year I have received 8 x £1000 and 4 x £900 which equals £11600 - when do I see the missing £400?
I think, but I'm not sure why, that I won't see that missing money until I receive the 13th payment?
Can anyone shed any light, hit me with a clue stick, confirm my maths, call me names?!
Thanks all

There might be a slight difference but it works out correct if they do it right.
There are 13x4week pay periods in a year(£923) one of them may move into the next tax year0
