Payment Protection Life Cover - Loan in Joint Names

Unfortunately my mother passed away 2 weeks ago, and in sorting out her estate, i found a loan with Lloyds TSB which is in joint names with her partner. the loan is covered by the TSB's PPI, which includes life cover.

My question is will this settle the loan in full or will the balance pass to her partner ?

Thanks in Advance

  • Hi sorry for your news

    Was your mother first named?

Usually PPI covers the first named person only. If so should be repaid with claim

So if second named this would pass to partner if could not be repaid in any other way
