Council Tax when deceased

Good afternoon all,
My mother in law sadly passed away last October. Whilst her property is currently up for sale is her estate liable for council tax? I would add that it is currently unoccupied and has been so since her death. We have also filled in all the relevant paper work with the council.

Dwelling left unoccupied following death of occupier whilst awaiting grant of probate or letters of administration and for up to 6 months after they are granted.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
