What exactly can employers see on credit check

Hi guys

just a quick question- not entirely sure this is in the right section!

i have just been offered a job subject to a credit check at an insurance company. i dont have any ccjs or ivas, but i do have a few late payments for late last year and earlier on this year.

does anyone know what exactly the employer can see on my report? Is there anywhere i can find out without asking the company directly?

thanks!

  • They can see exactly what you can see when you get a copy of your credit report. What you need to know is what decision making criteria they use to decide when looking at your report.
  • Employers don't score very harshly, I know that much.
I'm pretty sure they can only see things such as CCJ's and Bankruptcy.

I had 1 settled and 4 unsettled defaults on my file yet still passed the checks for a job within the Financial Services.

    They can see it all!

It just depends on what is acceptable to the employer.

My company does a credit check too as we work with highstreet banks but just deal with their online stuff but even a guy with a CCJ was allowed to stay so depends on the job I guess...

I seriously doubt that, I think they can only see publicly available information, such as bankruptcy, CCJs and electoral info.

Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?
