Fradualt "Financial Associations" on my Credit Report

I have just checked my credit report, and my score is 917 / 999. Pretty good I guess, and no negative marks (or unpaid debts) against me.
One thing that I am slightly concerned about though is “Financial Associations”, there are 2 names down there of people that don’t exist (same surnames) and one of them is linked to a neighbouring address of a flat that I lived at 5 years ago. I always thought my neighbours were a bit dodgy! So it looks like they were trying to apply for credit in my name, but never got anywhere.
I want to remove these “people” that I am financially linked to, what action should I take?
Thanks

File a notice of disassociation with all 3 credit reference agencies. I think there is a 'notes' section of the forms, where you can add in that you do not know who these people are and have never been financially associated with anyone by these names.
This is the experian and call credit forms

You'll probably need to write unknown in some of the boxes.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Thanks Tixy - I have just filled that in online, who are the other 2 agencies that I should contact?

Just noticed there is also a fradulant credit account listed with "Simply Be". It is under my old address but my name is mis spelt and the DOB is wrong. It is settled and there is no outstanding debt on it (none was ever taken out), but I would still like it removed from my records...... IS there another form I can fill out? Thanks!0

This doesn't mean they were applying for credit in your name.
My neighbour was coming up on my credit report as a financial association. It was because of how my address was structured. We live at number 431, but I am flat 2, and he is flat 1.
You need to check all 3 credit files - Call Credit, Equifax and Experian. You can just call them and they'll do it for you.
As for the 'Simply Be' it can't be removed unless it really is fraudulent.
You would need to contact the Credit Reference Agency and ask for all the details on that account. Then call Simply Be and find out if it was yours. It could be that you opened an account with them but never used it, and closed it. It'd still come up as settled.SAVINGS: £63.86 // £3,0000 -
just contact the cra and dispute that account is yours0

They were, trust me! I found credit card rejection letters in the communal areas with my name (misspelt), but their address. I also found scraps of paper in the bin areas with a company that sold car parts, (car parts for a car that they owned!) and a note of my bank account details next to it!
I went to the police at the time who said they would "speak" to them, but they couldn't do more than that.KellyKing1987 wrote: »As for the 'Simply Be' it can't be removed unless it really is fraudulent.

After re checking my credit report there are a few entries in the "Credit Account Information" section that have nothing to do with me. They seem to all be catalogue companies and are registered under my name but with wrong DOBs or titles.
None of them have actually had any credit taken out against them and they are registered as "settled", so do I need to get them removed from my report?

Definitely get copies of your reports from all 3 addresses to look for any other potential accounts or worse debts in your name.
In terms of the accounts that were opened and settled with no transactions (but are not yours) - how long ago were they settled? whilst in theory you should be able to get them removed they may not be having any significant impact and they will drop off altogether 6years after they are shown as settled - if its getting close to that date you may find it easier just to wait until they drop off.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
You missed the point - The financial association is there because they've been applying for credit at your ADDRESS. If they'd applied for credit in your name only, then there wouldn't be a financial association there, as it'd just come up on your credit accounts bit. (Although by what you've said, seems like they've done it in your name).
If it was me I would contact all the accounts I have no recollection of and find out if it was me or not, but that is just me!
As Tixy said, look at the dates of the settled accounts. If 6 years is almost up then not to worry too much as they'll drop off soon enough.
Also, have you checked to make sure there are no open accounts which aren't yours, as they can still affect your ability to get credit, as you may have too many accounts.SAVINGS: £63.86 // £3,0000 -
Thanks guys. All the accounts are listed as "settled" and have no actual debt against them. Also, they were opened / closed in 200/07, so I guess I will just leave them to "fall off" my report.
And I will definitely get my report from the other 2 agencies.
Thanks for all your help.
