Hi all
I'm an avid lurker to the Old Style forum, I have a toddler and another baby on the way and am trying to get better at cooking one meal each evening for the whole family to save myself money and hassle
Tonight I'm making sausage pasta (basic tomato pasta sauce with added sausages frozen ones cooked in the oven). I want to make the sauce for all of us serve the toddlers about an hour and a half before we have ours.
My question, probably a silly one, is what's the safest way to keep the leftover sauce to be eaten later? Should I cool and reheat or could I pop it in the crock pot on low cook until we want it?
Thanks for your help. Saving and reheating is what I struggle with most always afraid of poisoning someone!!

I make a homemade steak pie and when I take the meat out for the pie I tend to leave the leftover gravy in the slowcooker ready to serve when we have the pie (20 mins in oven to cook the pastry). Never had a problem doing this, I usually click the slowcooker off and keep the lid on to save electricity and might just give it 10 seconds in the microwave to warm up if it needs it.0
