Hi
We have made an enquiry with our current mortgage lender about remortgaging. We assumed that our endowment policy, which matured last year, had been paid to our lender to reduce our mortgage, but this has not been the case! On making enquiries to the company who we have the policy with it turns out they are still holding the money! In order to reclaim the money I have had to request a letter from our original lender stating that they no longer have an interest in the policy, this has now been done. I also need to fill in a maturity pack, which I am still waiting to receive, I have chased this. My question is as the policy matured in May 2011 and they still hold the money am I in my right to request interest on that money? Please could someone out there advise?
Many thanks.

Most providers add interest as a matter of course once it gets past around 30 days. Dont expect much. Typically it is base rate.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
